Dumb Watercolor Memes is a collection of watercolor recreations of some of Sarah Duyer's favorite internet memes.
I started painting these as a fun technical challenge as I've been developing my watercolor skills. I found something compelling about taking a piece of digital ephemera, an image that is instantly recognizable with cultural significance and internet jokes, and recreating it in such a slow and deliberate medium. With each meme I take my time to really analyze the image and do my best to recreate it in my own style in watercolor.
