Cometbus #55 - Pen Pals (Zine)
Cometbus, published since 1981, may be America’s longest-running underground magazine. Each issue is different, some featuring novel-length prose from editor Aaron Cometbus, others filled with short stories, interviews, and art from a cast of hundreds —plus the occasional all-comic, flier, or audio edition. Everyone loves the Cometbus travelogues. (It's nice to read about being sick and miserable on a Greyhound bus, when it's not you doing the suffering.) This issue beckons back to unique friendships Aaron has had since 1988 in Berkeley with a woman named Yula and a collaborator named Andy as they shift and evolve, involving many entertaining side-plots. It's about Aaron finding himself, casting his interests in stone, and friendships maintained through the post. And it's all held together by a wraparound Jordan Crane cover!
